Alexandra Dias Santos

Alexandra Dias Santos – is Coordinator of the Communication Sciences course in ISLA Campus Lisboa, where she teaches communication to undergraduate as well as post-graduate students. She holds a degree in Art History from NOVA's Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH-UNL) and a Masters degree in Communication, Culture and Information Technologies from Instituto de Superior de Ciências do Trabalho e da Empresa (ISCTE Instituto Universitário de Lisboa). An interest for the social sciences and for the interdisciplinary approach lead her to the Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS-UL), where she conducted the research that would grant her a PhD degree in Sociology. Her thesis is focused on Angolan literature, emphasizing its ties to nationalist, as well as communist, ideologies. Alexandra is currently interested in media studies, especially in the relations between media and nationalism.
