12nd edition of the Economic Journalism Award invites jounalists to submit works until May 9

Initiative from NOVA and Santander Totta Bank aims to reward the best journalistic works published in Portugal in the Economic Area.

Applications for the 12nd edition of the Economic Journalism Award (PJE) are open. This is a joint initiative between NOVA University of Lisbon and Santander Totta Bank which aims to reward the best journalistic works published in Portugal in the Economic Area.

The initiative will reward works in three different areas, namely "Business Adminsitration", "Financial Markets" and "Business Sustainability and Innovation". All journalists who have articles published in print or electronic press in 2017 may participate. Applications are open until May 9, through the competition's website.

The best work of the three areas will be awarded the maximum prize of 10.000 euros and will also be the winner of the respective cathegory in which is particpating. There are also prizes worth 5.000 euros for the best article in each of the others areas of the competition. 

The jury is composed by the journalists of the economic area Helena GarridoSérgio Figueiredo and Conceição Zagalo, and also by some figures of NOVA University of Lisbon. The Director of NOVA FCSH, Professor Francisco Caramelo, and faculty members António Granado (NOVA FCSH), José Albuquerque Tavares (Nova SBE)  and Paulo Pinho (Nova SBE) make up the group that represents the institution.

The President and Vice-President of the Prize are, respectively, António Vieira Monteiro, President of the Executive Commission of Santander Totta, and Professor João Sàágua, Rector of NOVA University of Lisbon.
