NOVA granted the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Robert Anderson

British Professor was distinguished for his work in the areas of areas of cardiac anatomy and cardiac congenital malformations.

 

By suggestion of NOVA Medical School | Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, NOVA University Lisbon granted the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to British Professor Robert Anderson, recognized on a global scale in the areas of cardiac anatomy and cardiac congenital malformations. The ceremony took place on May 30 at the Rectorate of NOVA and had the presence of figures from the medical area.

Professor José Fragata, Vice-Rector of NOVA, did the laudation of the awardee and the Dean of NMS|FCM, Professor Jaime da Cunha Branco, was the patron.

In his acceptance speech, Professor Robert Anderson did a presentation in which he emphasized the influence of the concept of serendipity (the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy or beneficial way) in his life and made reference to the several figures that marked his career, including colleagues, medical doctors and family.
