NOVA School of Law won the Europa Law Moot Court 2018, conquering the first place in this competition for the fourth time. The competition took place in Kavala, in Greece, between March 31 and April 1 and had the presence of the former President of the European Court of Justice Vassilios Skouris at the final.
The group of students from the 3rd year formed by Diogo Raínha, Francisco Arga e Lima, Marta Cruz and Mateus Carvalho, under the orientation of Professor Francisco Pereira Coutinho, beated the teams of Lyon, Salonika and Liége in the first round of the competition, having then beated the team from Sofia at the semi final and finally the team from Madrid, at the final. In total, the students did six case-studies regarding issues related to the application of the new General Regulation for Data Protection.
Student Mateus Carvalho was also considered the best speaker in the competition, a title which was achieved for the first time by a student of NOVA School of Law.
