Professor Elvira Fortunato, Vice-Rector of NOVA, will continue integrating the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors, the independent high level group of scientific adivisors of the European Commission, in the next two years. The mandate was renewed following an invitation by Carlos Moedas, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science.
In a letter addressed to Elvira Fortunato, the European Commissioner stressed the Professor's impact on the definition of the post-2020 CO2 vehicular emissions measurement standards policy, but also her role on setting «the bar very high for the Group’s subsequent work».
Professor Elvira Fortunato is the only Portuguese member to integrate the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors since its creation in 2015.
