Student from FCT NOVA wins prize for best European thesis

Student won the Prize with her thesis from the Integrated Masters in Micro and Nanotechnologies Engineering.

Beatriz Coelho vence prémio para melhor tese de Mestrado

Beatriz Coelho, former student of the Integrated Masters in Micro and Nanotechnologies from NOVA School of Science and Technology, won a prize for the best Masters thesis in Europe attributed by the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS) for the first time this year. Beatriz Coelho, current PhD student of the Doctoral Program in Nanotechnologies and Nanosciences at CENIMAT, won the prize with the thesis “A Digital Microfluidics Platform for Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification of DNA”, with which she completed her Master and that was supervised by Professors Rui Igreja (Departament of Materials Engineering) and Pedro Baptista (Departament of Life Sciences).

This new competition created by FEMS seeks to distinguish the best Masters thesis in Science and Materials Engineering, presented in any academic institution from any country that integrates FEMS (more than 20 countries).
