U-Multirank has a multi-dimensional approach that compares the performance of 1,614 universities from 95 countries across a range of 29 indicators and five categories - teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional engagement

The results achieved in this fifth edition of U-Multirank confirm the consistency of the work carried out by NOVA in the development of top-class university education and the production of competitive research at both the local and the international levels. These two essential aspects of the University's mission allow the generation of synergies that unequivocally contribute to (1) the qualification of human resources; (2) the consequent professional success of students in an increasingly competitive and international labour market and, ultimately, (3) social development.

The U-Multirank is funded by the Bertelsmann Foundation, the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme and Santander Group for the years 2017 through 2019.
