In the first phase of the National Competition for the Access to Higher Education 2017-18, NOVA University achieved 100% vacancy occupancy rate, one of the highest amongst Portuguese comprehensive universities.
The indicator of first choice applications has increased 30% since 2013, confirming the growing preference of students and the confidence of families in the quality of education delivered by this institution. This year, for a total of 2706 places available, there were 4362 applicants that elected NOVA as their first choice.
Alongside these results, and taking into account the entry score of the last placed candidate, NOVA improved the national leadership from 11 to 14 programmes that represent 37% of its offer. In Lisbon, this leadership rises to 55% since NOVA has improved its position when compared to 2016, leading in 21 programmes.
