NOVA contributes to the discussion of the future of health in Portugal with Health Parliament initiative

The Senate room at the Rectorate of NOVA University was the chosen venue for the signing of the memorandum that jumpstarted the Health Parliament Portugal, an initiative led by four partners - NOVA University, Janssen Portugal, Microsoft and Expresso.

NOVA embraces this important challenge by the close cooperation that it intends to establish between the scientific community and the civil society, capitalizing on new ideas for a healthier Portugal and contributing to the redefinition of the health system.

The Health Parliament Portugal will promote a broad debate on health bringing together 60 young adults aged between 21 and 40 to discuss and make recommendations on the future of health in Portugal. The patient at the center of decision, mental health or barriers to health care are some of the topics that will be debated in this parliament.

The recruitment campaign of participants for the Health Parliament is in place. Applications are open until 28 October in the initiative site and the debates will take place between January and June 2017.
