NOVA’s Faculdade de Direito and José de Mello Saáde joined to create an association for the Biolaw research, ABIO, becoming the first association that relates law, medicine and ethics.
ABIO is a non-profit association that will be dedicate to Biolaw research, teaching and promotion. The Association may also provide grants for research works and scholarship, collaborating with national and international organizations in education or training activities, intended to form a documentation Center.
Biolaw is the branch of the Public Law that is associated to bioethics, studying the legal relationships between law and medicine and biotechnology technological advances.
