The NOVA campus in the Egyptian capital, the first of a Portuguese university outside the national territory, will host a series of lectures throughout 2024 with top researchers from the various partners of EUTOPIA, the alliance of European universities to which NOVA belongs. 

Proof of Concept grants are exclusively awarded to Principal Investigators who have previously received ERC funding. 

The first major conference of the year at NOVA was dedicated to how the university can contribute to supporting and finding solutions that respond in a sustainable way to the problems of the community in which it operates. Matching single people with students looking for accommodation, to be implemented next academic year, is one of the proposals. But it's not the only one.  

The agreement, announced this week by Portuguese biotech company CellmAbs, a spin-off of NOVA University Lisbon, includes patented technology originating from NOVA's Faculty of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT) and developed in collaboration with the Portuguese Institute of Oncology of Porto (IPO) and the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in Germany.

An initiative aimed at promoting and encouraging music among the NOVA student community.

Due to increasing demand, this unique programme in Portugal, which aims to help students from different countries adapt to the European education system, is now accepting applications for the next semester. 

The award, to be presented in April on the occasion of the World Creativity and Innovation Day, aims to encourage innovation and recognise best practices at NOVA University Lisbon. Applications are open until 29 February 2024.

Scientist Returns to School is a project led by a former FCSH and Starters Academy student that promotes the return of scientists to the primary schools where they studied, to promote science communication and reduce inequalities in access to science across the country.

The biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of the next generation of immunotherapies has just had its work recognised in two categories: Startup Health Technologies Award 2023 and Startup Revelation Award 2023. 

With the signing of this protocol, the two institutions have committed themselves to promoting research and development in the field of rehabilitation, as well as a joint degree in social services management. 

"Addressing the 3rd Mission in Universities: Local to Global" was the theme of the conference.
