Entrepreneurship, supported by high quality scientific knowledge plays a major role in the economic growth and development of the country.
In this context, NOVA- School of Business and Economics develops and supports initiatives that promote a culture of entrepreneurship among its students and the community.
Startup Weekend Lisbon
12, 13 and 14 November

NOVA sponsors the Startup Weekend, an entrepreneurship contest which happens in Portugal for the first time and aims to be the beginning of a long journey for those who want to open a business.
It is a global event running for 54 hours straight, held more than 100 times in about 100 different cities around the world that has already helped to launch over 500 new startups.
Entrepreneurs have the opportunity to develop their ideas with the help of mentors - successful Portuguese entrepreneurs - and present them to a jury panel composed of professional investors.
The six best ideas will be presented at the Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The event is organized by João Villar, Cláudia Figueiredo, Marta Paiva e Catarina Rodrigues, masters students at NOVA.
