Objectives

 Basic knowledge of Geophysics, fundamental to both theoretical or experimental  Earth studies such as seismology, radioactive dating among others.

Prerequisites

Linear Algebra and Analytical Geometry, Mathematics I, Mathematics II and Physics (Mechanics).

Lectures and problem-solving sessions.

 

Evaluation method

1. Distributed evaluation without final examination or work 2. Tests: Two open-book tests . Average grading (NT) must exceed 9.5. 3. Practical evaluation: General performance on classes and average from 3 homeworks (NP) 4. Frequency: Minimum 2/3 atendace to problem-solving classes and NP>8 5. Final Grading (CF): CF=NT*0,7+NP*0,3  6. Exam: Special Exam classification replaces NT
