    Summer School
Coordinated by: Professora Graça Videira Lopes

In keeping with the practices of major universities in Europe and throughout the world, the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas of Universidade Nova de Lisboa holds its summer school each year, in July and September. It offers a range of intensive short duration courses in all its academic areas. These courses aim to present, discuss and provide intensive yet succinct work on general or more specific matters within the social and human sciences area, which are covered by its various departments. As such, the courses provide a space for participants to update their knowledge and reflect on these matters as well as further enabling specific competencies in each area.

    WORKING PRACTICES:

The Summer School organises its units into modules, with each module being available for a limited number of students. The various courses run either during the day or in a night school format. Participants may opt to study one or several modules, in the same or different areas, depending on their interests and timetable availability. Some modules combine a teaching section with other diverse activities (study visits, film projection, wide-ranging conferences, etc.).
Each module entitles the participant to an attendance certificate (an attendance list is kept), which may also specify any credits awarded, in the event of the student requesting formal evaluation (since this is facultative).
