Objectives
1. To know how to apply the rules for graphical representation of mechanical components: a) Representation through orthogonal projections. European and American methods. Representation into six orthogonal planes. Most used views of the European projection method. Orthogonal projection dimensioning. Assembly unit drawings. Sectional views representing mechanical components. b) Perspective representation. Cavalier oblique views. Axonometric views. Dimensioning in perspective views. 2. To know the fundamentals of Descriptive Geometry and its connections with technical drawing: a) Intersection of a line with a plane; b) Intersection of two planes and intersection of a solid with a plane. c) Intersection of two solids. General method. Intersection of plane surface solids. Intersection of curved surface solids. Rotations and revolutions, true size and shape. Developments.

Teaching method
The oral exposition is essentially the teaching method used, associated with sketches, schemes and resumes made by the teacher in the classroom blackboard. The video projector is also used in the classroom.The teacher solves some typical problems to teach the strategy of resolution to the students. Then some practical problems are distributed and the students have to answer them in the classroom in a period of time. The practical problems are evaluated and considered on the final classification of the student.
Evaluation method
b) The nine practical exercises will be divided in three groups:
- Group I - includes practical exercises number 1, 2 and 3;
- Group II - includes practical exercises number 4, 5 and 6;
- Group III includes practical exercises number 7, 8 and 9.
c) The student is admitted to the exam if he gets an approval at least for two practical exercises of each Group. The student should also obtain an approval in the 9th practical exercise.
