Description
The Faculdade de Economia is a public school dedicated to teaching and scientific research in the fields of Economics and Management.
Founded in 1978, the faculty has been developing an innovative project in Portugal, following the standard of North American universities, and currently occupies the top national position in the fields of Economics and Management, in terms of teaching and research.
The EQUIS accreditation by the European Foundation for Management Development and the AMBA accreditation by the Association of MBAs, both certify the quality of the School''s programmes and acknowledge the fulfilment of all the international standards in terms of teaching, internationalization and connection with the business world. The School was recently selected as the Portuguese representative at CEMS (Community of European Business Schools and International Companies), a restricted club made up of the best European schools (one for each country) and the top transnational companies, devoted to the promotion of excellence programmes towards employment in the global market.
The curricula offer, already in compliance with the Bologna structure, is strongly research driven and considered "Excellent" by the external evaluations led by an international panel of experts from the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.
The graduate courses in Economics and Management have obtained the best results possible in its evaluation, which was carried out by the Higher Education External Evaluation Committee, under the supervision of the Fundação das Universidades Portuguesas (Portuguese Universities Foundation).
The School''s international character is reflected not only in its faculty recruitment from the international job market, but also through the signing of exchange agreements with international schools and the implementation of English spoken classes in the majority of the undergraduate subjects and for all Masters, MBA and PhD programmes.
