Objectives

To study the policy implications (efficiency and equity aspects) of the spatial distribution of economic activity and also how economic policy (subsidies and taxes) can influence it.

Subject matter

Spatial inequalities throughout, the spatial distribution of economic activities in the US and in the EU, the basic mechanisms of agglomeration and trade, the home market effect and the impact of regional subsidies and agglomeration and urban costs, the equity and efficiency aspects of spatial inequalities.
