Objectives
Lectures on the first 33 years of the 20th. century in order to provide students with a critical knowledge about:
1-I World War causes
2-European conflict aim
3-November Revolution:1918 and the foundation of Weimar Republic
4- Weimar Republic rise and fall.
Prerequisites
With or without A2.2 german language level.
Subject matter
From German II Reich Foundation till German industrial state condition consolidation;
German imperial society and its political, social, military and diplomatic authoritarian state features;
German military success and failure in international context;
Weimar Republic: social, economic and political crisis; conservative versus revolutionary parties.

Teaching method
Lectures on:
1-20 th. century German history: 1900-1933.
2-Practicing commentary and debate based on previously handed out texts about the main issues.
3-Promoting and reviewing the student’s knowledge while stimulating his oral and written praxis during the working sessions.
Evaluation method
Two hours written test and 30 m. oral presentation of a previously written essay – to be handed out and also assessed - about a chosen and agreed theme.
