Education objectives
The Civil Engineering Master Program aims at preparing technical professionals enabled to work as Civil Engineers, including design, construction, construction management, coordination of civil engineering works such as buildings, industrial constructions, bridges, viaducts, roads, railways, airports, hydraulic structures and infrastructures.
It is mainly focused on the areas of Structural, Construction and Geotechnical Engineering and it aims at giving students a solid basic training as well as a rigorous and up-to-date approach of the specific areas, in order to endow them the tools necessary to a successful career in the labour market.
The Civil Engineering Master Program prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in project and construction companies as well as in central and local administration services. The areas of professional activity include conception, design and construction of structures such as buildings, geotechnics, foundations, hydraulic structures, roads and railways, as well as restoration of the built heritage and the structural retrofitting of bridges and viaducts.

Evaluation rules
The following modes of evaluation are used with regard to academic qualifications:
- Evaluation based solely on an examination or completion of a final project.
- Evaluation based on work done throughout the semester excluding examination or final project. In these courses students can expect to carry out, for example, laboratory activities, mini-tests, tests, individual or group projects, seminar-related activities, any combination of which will be used to determine the final grade.
