Objectives
This course offers the students: (i) basic analytical tools of game theory; (ii ) some of their most important economic applications; and (iii) an introduction to the economy of uncertainty and information.
Prerequisites
Subject matter
Games: Notion of strategic behavior. Static and dynamic games with complete information: Nash’s definition of strategy and equilibrium. Static and dynamic games with incomplete information: the role of information and information asymmetries. Equilibrium concepts.
Uncertainty and Information: individual behavior in the face of risk. Risk measures and risk avoidance measures. Making a decision in a context of uncertainty. The theory of contingent markets. Finance markets. Insurances. Adverse selection and moral hazard.
