Education objectives
- To bring practical know-how from the state with the most clinical trials in the world (
- To increase the number and quality of worldwide clinical trials in Portuguese sites;
- To qualify and capacitate investigators to run their own investigator initiated trials, in terms of good clinical practices and clinical research methodology;
- To promote clinical research collaboration between academia and hospitals;
- To capacitate physicians and other healthcare professionals to critically understand published clinical research, helping their hospitals making evidence-based therapeutic decisions;
- To conduct pharmacoepidemiology studies and other observational epidemiological studies in hospitals and health care centers;
- To enable the integration of Portuguese clinical researchers in Pan-European networks.
Degree pre-requisites
To successfully complete 10 courses (5 from each university, for a total of 45 ECTS in courses), and to successfully conclude a Dissertation or Project Work or Professional Internship (worth 45 ECTS). Success means a final classification of 10 or above, or equivalent letter grade D or greater.
