Education objectives

The course provides the core competencies and knowledge to identify scientifically relevant problems in the fields of biomedicine and health sciences and to translate these problems into experimentally demonstrable hypotheses. Students should also be able to evaluate, present, discuss and communicate the results of their scientific work, clearly identifying their relevance for the advancement of knowledge and / or technologies. The master's program is flexible and adopts a model of advanced courses made available annually from a diverse range of offers. The NBR is an internationally uniquely student-centered and research-based course. The official language of the course is English.

Access to other courses

1st Semester - Students must obtain 25 ECTS in attended curricular units that are organized in advanced theoretical and / or practical training modules in the mentioned areas.

2nd Semester - Students must obtain 10 ECTS in curricular units that are organized in Advanced Training Modules, in the areas of Master's specialization, 7 ECTS in the UC Thesis Project and 18 ECTS in laboratory rotations, totaling 35 ECTS in this semester.

3rd and 4th Semesters - The research will be carried out to prepare the Master's dissertation and each student must complete an optional curricular unit in any of the branches of the course, as long as it is distinct from the branch of specialization. Upon completion of the research work, the student should present it in the form of a Master's dissertation for presentation and public advocacy.
