Fulbright Programme

The Fulbright Satellite Information Centre is located at the International Relations and Communication’s Office and is in charge of providing information concerning the services and funding available and is also responsible for channelling all the information requested about studies in the United States of America to the Fulbright Information Centre.

This joint effort has a special meaning since the United States of America are the main destination for carrying on studies and for the development of research projects of Portuguese graduate students. The strengthening of the relationship with the Comissão Cultural Luso-Americana (Luso-American Cultural Commission) is part of NOVA’s internationalisation strategy, as well as providing relevant information on its educational options, in a situation of growing mobility and exchange from students, teaching staff and researchers between Europe and the United States of America.

The students can obtain updated information regarding the Fulbright grants, such as: public information sessions, information concerning the exams for admission in American universities, the list of material on sale at the Fulbright Information Centre, as well as the explanation text on the subject of issuing declarations, and information on the Portuguese and American education systems.

The mobility of researchers and teaching staff is also a cornerstone of the activity promoted by the Fulbright Commission, resulting in an exchange of specialists from both countries with Portuguese and North American research and higher education institutions.
