OCEANID in the 25th APDR Congress
OCEANID collaborated in the programming and production of the 25th congress of APDR - Portuguese Association for Regional Development, the Portuguese Section of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA).
The two days long congress aimed to discuss the concept of circular economy, urban metabolism and regional development, as challenges for a sustainable future. Some of the questions that guided the discussion and debate included: Does the paradigm shift to CE imply a reconceptualization of regional (and urban) development? How to adapt the principles of CE to develop strategies in different territorial contexts (heavily urbanized areas, island territories, low density areas ...)? What are the implications for spatial planning? How can we improve the urban and peri-urban metabolism? The Congress included a Policy Forum, Plenary Sessions, Special Sessions, Conferences and Round Tables, Workshops and Parallel Sessions. More information at www.apdr.pt/congresso/201
