
A team of researchers from FCT and FE wins the Prize Santander Totta / UNL in the Social Sciences and Humanities

In this second edition, the Prize was dedicated to the Social Sciences and Humanities and was awarded to Duarte Brito (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia) and João Vareda (Faculdade de Economia). Pedro Pereira, economist of the Competition Authority also integrates the research team. The winning project, entitled “The Economics and Regulation of Next Generation Networks”, aims to study several aspects of the regulation of Next Generation Networks in a common framework.
Evaluation was based on the following criteria: scientific excellence taking into account the curriculum of the Principal Investigator, expected impact, and interdisciplinarity. The Jury was composed by Professor Maria Arménia Carrondo (Vice-Rector of UNL), Dr. António Vieira Monteiro (Administrator of Santander Totta), Professor Maria Paula Diogo, (Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia), Professor Tereza Beleza (Faculdade de Direito), Professor Pedro Tavares de Almeida (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas), Professor José Mata (Faculdade de Economia ) and Professor Manuel Vilares (Instituto Superior de Estatística e Gestão de Informação).
