CENIMAT distinguished by Exame Informática

The work developed by CENIMAT, Materials Research Centre of FCT/UNL, was recognised by Exame Informática that has attributed an award in the category Innovation. This recognition is related to the invention of the paper transistor, a discovery that had great impact last year, in the scientific and media areas.

Elvira Fortunato and the team of researchers that she and Rodrigo Martins coordinate were responsible for this innovation that opens a new world of possibilities: paper screens, intelligent labels and packages, identification chips or medical applications. With the advantage that the technology is not only cheap but also environmentally friendly.

The Exame Informática Awards, this year in their 3rd edition, are attributed to ten categories: Personality, Product, Innovation, Internet, Environmental Responsability, Software, Digital Image, Exame Informática Lab, Computer Manufacturer and National Brand.
