Professor Luís Archer NOVA's Doctor Honoris Causa

The Universidade Nova de Lisboa awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Professor Luís Archer. The ceremony was held on the 18th of June 2009, at 5 p.m., at the Rectorate Auditorium.

Professor Luís Archer is a personality of recognised scientific merit with a vast curriculum dedicated to the areas of Molecular Genetics, Science History and Philosophy, Biotechnology Security, Bioethics, Science and Religion, and was one of the pioneers in Bioethics in our country.
From the several projects developed in our University, we emphasize, among others, the creation and direction of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory of FCT-UNL and his positions as the 1st Academic Ombudsman of NOVA.
