Minister for Health paid homage to FCM Professors

At the European meeting of ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support, that happened simultaneously with the Congresso Nacional de Cirurgia, the Minister for Health awarded a medal to Professors Patrícia Rosado Pinto and Carlos Alves Pereira for their relevant role in the introduction and implementation of that programme among us.

ATLS is a training programme of the American College of Surgeons that aims to develop clinical skills in the approach to trauma patients. In Portugal, the programme works under the auspices of the Sociedade Portuguesa de Cirurgia.

The Faculdade de Ciências Médicas has a programme adapted to pre-graduate teaching (TEAM) attended by all medical students and that is a significant training element in this clinical area.
