Election of FD Scientific Council President

Professor Rui Manuel Pinto Duarte was recently elected President of the Scientific Council of the Law Faculty in Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FDUNL).

Professor Pinto Duarte, a lecturer in NOVA´s Law Faculty since 1999, is currently Regent Professor in the following legal chairs: Direito das Sociedades, Contratos Civis e Comerciais and Estudos Interdisciplinares (O Direito e outros Saberes). Having supervised several Master thesis, as well as taking part in various academic examination boards, he has coordinated SPEED seminars - Seminário Permanente sobre o Estado e o Estudo do Direito, organized by the Law Faculty in Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FDUNL).

Professor Pinto Duarte also integrates the expert committee, constituted in accordance with art. 70 of Decree-Law 74/2006, of March 24, as an advisor on new legal studies cycles in private and cooperative higher education institutions. He held the position of Pro-Rector, in Universidade Nova de Lisboa, between February 2007 and March 2008. He is a member of the FDUNL Council since March 2009.
