NOVA Idea Competition – Awards Ceremony
The award delivery ceremony of NOVA IDEA COMPETITION took place on the 21st of May, at 11 a.m., at the Rectorate of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, in Campolide.
NOVA IDEA COMPETITION is an annual prize awarded by the Universidade NOVA, which aims to distinguish with prize worth 15 000 Euros, students with the most innovative project in the area of entrepreneurship.
This annual initiative of NOVA’s Rectorate Entrepreneurship Office includes teams of students from several faculties of NOVA. NOVA IDEA aims to give students an integrated learning experience, stimulating entrepreneurial culture, multidisciplinarity and cross-cultures among students.
The selected teams in this edition of NOVA IDEA presented projects related to the education area, software industry applied to Medicine and Biotechnology, Engineering and Energy Recovery. The contest follows the academic year with the submission of applications, the development of teams and presentation of proposals and business plans, allowing the jury to select five finalists. The Competition Jury is composed of teachers and professionals from the private sector in business and communication.
80 students from five faculties of NOVA participated in the first edition, in 2009. The Emove Project, one of the winners, was later awarded with no Prémio Inovação EDP Richard Branson. The team Emove was presented at the awards session. NOVA IDEA is sponsored by BPI and OPTIMUS.
