
NOVA/VALORMED 2010 Award
Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and VALORMED will award, the “Prémio VALORMED - Investigação 2010” on March 14th. The session will take place at 6 p.m., at the Rectorate Auditorium, in the Campolide Campus.
The selected candidates have developed projects involved the analytical monitoring of drug residues in water samples from the Mondego River and from wastewater of four hospitals and Wastewater Treatment Station of the city of Coimbra, a project coordinated by Professor Angelina Lopes Pena of the Faculdade de Farmácia of Universidade de Coimbra, and relevant information on Portuguese families behavior in the delivery of used drugs packages at pharmacies, a project presented by Professor Maria da Graça Martinho, from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of Universidade NOVA.
NOVA VALORMED - Investigação 2010 is a biennial award established through a protocol between NOVA and VALORMED aiming to encourage the promotion of better practices for an effective management of packaging residues and discarded medicines.
The ceremony will be presided by the Rector of NOVA, António Rendas, and VALORMED Managing-Director, José Carapeto.
