NOVA-Princeton partnership wins Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos competition

The project “Values, Institutional Quality, and Development”, coordinated by CESNOVA researcher, Maria Margarida Marques, Associate Professor at NOVA´s Sociology Department (FCSH) and Princeton´s Alejandro Portes, won the Fundação Francisco Manuel dos Santos (FFMS) competition, destined to research projects on “Cultural Values, Economic Development and Governance Quality: a compared perspective”.

NOVA’s partnership with Princeton University, in this project, results from over a decade of collaboration between Professor Alejandro Portes with the research field of migration sociology coordinated by Professor Margarida Marques. Alejandro Portes is “Howard Harrison and Gabrielle Snyder Beck” Professor of Sociology at Princeton and elected member of the National Academy of Sciences since 2001.
