The European Researchers Night returns on September 29, from 6 pm until midnight, and once again Universidade NOVA de Lisboa will participate in it.

In Lisbon there will be more than 100 activities, among workshops, science experiments and demonstrations, hand-on activities, puzzles, exhibitions and debates. NOVA will participate in several activities from two initiatives, promoted by different consortiums.

The first initiative has the participation of Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, which integrates the consortium and organizes several activities, and also with Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas and NOVA Medical School | Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, which organize some of the scheduled actions. Activities take place in Museu de História Natural e da Ciência, Praça do Príncipe Real and Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara and the topic is "SCILIFE – Science in Everyday Life / Ciência no dia-a-dia". Besides Lisbon, this consortium promotes activities in Porto and Braga.

NOVA will also be represented by Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica António Xavier (ITQB NOVA), which integrates a different consortium, and by Instituto de Higiene e Medicina Tropical (IHMT) and Nova School of Business and Economics, which also participate in some activities. The topic in this case will be the future, through activities that describe how life will be in 2030. Activities promoted within this consortium in Lisbon will take place in Pavilhão do Conhecimento - Ciência Viva  and Planetário Calouste Gulbenkian – Centro Ciência Viva. There will also be actions in other 17 points of the country.

European Researchers Night, created in 2005 and financed by the European Commission, is an initiative that takes place in several european cities at the same time and closes a series of scientific activities that take place during the year.
