Argumentation experts in public policy area meet at the Argumentation and Public Policy congress, the event that inaugurates the COST Action "European Argumentation and Public Policy Analysis Network". The meeting, organized by NOVA Philosophy Institute (IFILNOVA), a research center of NOVA FCSH, which will take place on March 19 on the campus of Campolide, includes four invited speakers and about 100 project members from Europe, Canada and the United States. The international project is led by Marcin Lewiński, Coordinator of the Laboratory of Argumentation of IFILNOVA.
The conference aims to present and discuss the most prominent research at international level in public policy and argumentation. The conferences focus on the main challenges of contemporary public discourse, such as the crisis of democracy or climate change. Relevant to researchers, students and other public and private sector actors - as well as to the media - the congress introduces the main objectives, methodologies and topics of the project to be developed over the next four years.
