NOVA Medical School | Faculdade de Ciências Médicas, while Eco-School and in the scope of the opening of the Degree in Nutrition Sciences in 2018/19, presents the lecture "The myth, 'everything in moderation'- The perspective of Nutrition in NMS", which will take place on October 16 at 4:00 pm, in the Auditorium Professor Manuel Machado Macedo.
The entrance to this lecture is free and is intended for both the internal community of NMS | FCM and the external community with an interest in the area.
On the same day, to celebrate World Food Day, the food items collected during the campaign that is currently being promoted by the School will be delivered to the Portuguese Council for Refugees (see below).
To commemorate World Food Day, which is being held on October 16, NOVA Medical School | Fcauldade de Ciências Médias (NMS | FCM) is promoting a campaign to collect food items running from 2 to 15 October
Goal: to raise the largest number of food products (rice, milk, baby potatoes and other non-perishable foods with a long shelf life).
You can contribute to this campaign by depositing the food in the properly identified boxes that will be scattered throughout NMS|FCM (Teaching Pole: Headquarters and School Building, Research Pole: Library Building, CEDOC - Yellow Building and Gray Building) and at the School Building of Hospital San Francisco Xavier, during the respective hours of operation.
The food collected will be delivered to the Portuguese Council for Refugees on October 16 and donated to families in need.
The FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) proposes to discuss a current theme every year to promote social action to combat hunger and food insecurity. This year, the focus is on the relationship between migration, food security and agriculture, focusing on the issue of refugees, with the theme "Shift the future of migration, invest in food security and rural development".
