Local:

The Aga Khan University and NOVA University Lisbon are co-hosting a Symposium titled Stem Cell Science, Regenerative Medicine, Ethics and Society that will take place on June 13 at the NOVA Rectorate.

The acceleration of research in stem cells and regenerative medicine and the great promise of its potential applications stands to offer tremendous hope for alleviating human suffering. At the same time, this growth is far outpacing our capacity to address the ethical issues and concerns raised by the ongoing research.

An esteemed panel of experts in the fields of Stem Cell Research and Regenerative Medicine, Theology, Law and Ethics will present, discuss and debate on issues and ongoing and anticipated advances in this field.

Registration for the event must be made until May 30th, it is free, but limited to the seats available in the auditorium.
