With the purpose of raising awareness among the NOVA community about the potentialities of intellectual property (IP), particularly copyright and neighbouring rights, the aim is to gather scientists, researchers and other academic and non-academic staff to become aware of the importance of IP in their works and projects, as well as to provide them with some basic knowledge about some technical aspects related to the protection of their creations. It is also an objective of this event to elucidate the academic community of NOVA about its internal policies and procedures, while providing some knowledge about best practices and other useful tips.
The programme is structured following a technical workshop approach where the discussion of practical cases is encouraged. This is an event of the utmost importance for NOVA strategic goals to promote value creation, ensuring that the NOVA community is aware of Intellectual Property issues in the context of their work.
This is a great opportunity to stimulate final year Master students, Ph.D. students, post-docs, researchers and teaching and non-teaching staff to get involved with Intellectual Property issues.
