The Rectorate of NOVA hosts on 16th January the International Conference "Health Literacy Interventions for Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases", organized by the NOVA National School of Public Health in partnership with the Portuguese Association of Diabetics, the Portuguese Network of Healthy Municipalities and the University of Deakin (Australia) and with the support of the World Health Organization.
Health literacy is one of the key determinants of chronic disease prevention and well-being. The World Health Organization is committed to developing health literacy through the promotion of different initiatives, including support for the development of the National Literacy Demonstration Projects (NHLDP).
The International Conference "Health Literacy Interventions for Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases" is part of the meeting between several NHLDP and will address the following topics:
