The NOVA University Lisbon Choir, NOVA Choir, celebrates the memory of the recently deceased conductor João Valeriano, a key figure in choral music in Portugal, who will forever be linked to the history of the NOVA Choir that he directed for three decades.
The concert will take place on Saturday, April 9, at 3 pm, in the Auditorium of the Rectory of NOVA University Lisbon. Entry is free.
The programme includes works by composers from the 15th to the 20th century, and from various musical genres, in an affective, eclectic and intense journey through European and American music, and with special video participations by the Amalgam choir, from Paris, and the Gulbenkian choir.
Diogo Gonçalves is the conductor, and two of the works presented will count with pianist Nicholas McNair, collaborator and longtime friend of the NOVA Choir.
