Networking is often seen as a key skill for building a career, but it is not always clear where to start. This is the idea behind the workshop “Strategic Networking: Turning Conversations into Opportunities”, promoted by the EUTOPIA Student Career Ambassadors, taking place on May 20, between 5:30–6:30 PM (UTC+01:00).
The EUTOPIA Student Career Ambassadors, a selected group of students dedicated to sharing job, internship, and learning opportunities, aim to bring their peers closer to the job market. Through their networks and the EUTOPIA platform, they contribute to creating a European space for sharing opportunities and experiences.
During the session, participants will be exposed to practical examples, ranging from the use of LinkedIn and specialized platforms to the importance of portfolios, academic events, and conferences.
In addition, participants will benefit from the experiences shared by speakers such as Joana Bordalo, Deputy Director of Native Scientists, recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise by the Euclid Network (2023) and recipient of the NOVA FCSH Alumni Award (2025); Bernardo Ivo Cruz, former Secretary of State and professor at NOVA School of Law and Universidade Católica Portuguesa; Madalena Ferreira da Fonseca, Careers Adviser at NOVA School of Business & Economics, with a PhD in neuroscience and research in learning and decision-making; and Catarina Patrão, who holds a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from NOVA FCT and is currently a Functional System Analyst at Timestamp, with experience in student leadership as Director of Training and Career Opportunities at the National Association of Biomedical Engineering Students.
