Step into a world where instruments become characters and sound paints stories. Maurice Ravel, a superb pianist, always had a soft spot for the orchestra—because only an orchestra can shimmer, whisper, sparkle and surprise in so many different ways. With an extraordinary ear for colour, he blended instruments with the care of a storyteller, creating magical atmospheres and vivid moods.
In this Family Concert, we invite you to listen twice: first for the tale, then for the details—those tiny musical clues that help the orchestra bring fairytales to life. From the dreamlike Sleeping Beauty to the wandering Tom Thumb, each of the five movements of Mother Goose opens a new door into an enchanted world.
