According to the Portuguese League Against Cancer, there are approximately 1,500 new cases of melanoma in Portugal every year Portugal – the most serious type of skin cancer. In a simple and accessible manner, Dr. Ana Brasileiro, of Hospital de Santo António dos Capuchos, will talk about the warning signs and prevention strategies.
Researchers and citizen scientists from the Sombra para Todxs project will present the initiative and demonstrate the use of UV sensors.
Sombra para Todxs is a citizen science project supported by EVITA-Cancro Hereditário, Município de Oeiras, ULS de Lisboa Ocidental, Programa C+C/ITQB NOVA, InovLabs, Escola Secundária Quinta do Marquês, Universidade da Maia, Associação de Doentes de Melanoma “Liga os Pontos”, Associação “Viver a Ciência”, and La Roche Posay.
