BLUES Project

BLUES Programme - The road to entrepreneurship

BLUES (Blended-Learning International Entrepreneurship Skills) started in 2017 as an Erasmus + project, resulting from the collaboration of partners from five countries: Spain, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, and Finland. Although the project came to an end in the context of European co-financing in early 2020, the results of this project are still available on the official website and there are coordinated efforts for the program to have continuity and applicability.

Using the Blended Learning methodology, the program brings participants the opportunity to develop their business idea or join a multidisciplinary team and create an innovative solution to day-to-day problems, supported by a panel of experts and recognized teachers in the field.

The Blended Learning methodology has two components:

  • Digital, through MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses), which consists of online courses with unlimited participation and open access;
  • In-person, through Face to Face sessions.

The BLUES methodology is adaptable to any existing program and suitable for students of any discipline and training.

Face-to-Face Session: 1st Edition - May 2019

The first Face-to-Face, “What, Why & How. Your Road to Entrepreneurship ”, aimed to provide students with their first vision of entrepreneurship through a programme that helped them develop essential skills required in the labor market, in a scenario where the job offer is scarce and there is a considerable number of companies that they are not in a position to compete in a global market. The ability to create their own job opportunities was the key idea of this course. According to the project methodology, the Face-to-Face sessions were combined with the respective MOOC.

Multiplier Entrepreneurship Event

The Multiplier Entrepreneurship Event, which took place at NOVA's Rectorate on January 16, 2020, was the last BLUES event in the context of Erasmus + co-financing. However, it worked as a kick-off to take NOVA University Lisbon further in the scope of teaching methodologies for management and entrepreneurship skills.

The event, which brought together teachers, mentors, and partners from the digital area, was a moment of reflection and exchange of good practices. The session also included the launch of the NOVA Mentor Network, a network that aims to connect experts from different areas to NOVA entrepreneurs for mentoring and counseling support.
