Non-academic staff

The Staff from the Academic Units is considered a key-part in NOVA’s identity as an academy of excellence. They play a significant role in the evolution process to become one of the most prestigious Portuguese universities, especially throughout the international experiences they have been able to have outside the Country.   Many mobility opportunities are available to all NOVA’s staff of the different administrative and academic units, as good as to the ones given to students, teachers and researchers. While these mobilities may occur to any HEI or other European entity within the objectives of each mobility, there are also possibilities for staff to apply for mobilities to Partner HEIs outside Europe.

International Cooperation

Mobilities inside or outside Europe may occur under the General Cooperation Protocols / Addenda. The staff should consult the map of NOVA in the World to identify the countries and Partner HEI’s where there is an existing cooperation. For more information regarding the International Cooperation, the staff should contact the Mobility Office of his/her Academic Unit.

Erasmus+ Mobilities

The Erasmus + Staff Mobility for Training has the main goal to support the professional development of the Academic or on-Academic Staff of NOVA through periods of training/working (conferences are excluded) at one of the Partner HEI or another institution, considered pertinent for the jobs’ objectives, in Europe.

For more information regarding this type of mobility and application’s procedures, please check Teaching and Training Mobilities.

In addition to these Erasmus + intra-European mobility, which may occur to any HEI or other European entity which is considered appropriate for the individual goals of each mobility, there is also the possibility for staff to apply for mobility outside Europe.

The Erasmus+ Programme, especially the International Credit Mobility (ICM), gives the opportunity to the staff who wants to work or to receive training during a short period of time, to realize their mobility at one Partner HEI from the Partner Countries outside Europe. For more information regarding this type of mobility, please check the Erasmus+ ICM (colocar link para Programas Financiados/Erasmus+ ICM).

Currently, NOVA is coordinating the following ICM projects::

The mobility of staff from NOVA has increased significantly in the last years, with a strong demand for training and international experience. This type of mobility is widely encouraged in all the Academic Units and it is considered a key activity in NOVA’s internationalization strategy.
