“90 Seconds of Science” wins the Gulbenkian Knowledge Prize 2019

The prize of 50,000 euros will be awarded Friday, July 19th.

The "90 Seconds of Science" programme, an initiative of NOVA FCSH and ITQB NOVA, won the Gulbenkian Knowledge Prize 2019, totalling 50,000 euros. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, July 19, at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Coordinated by António Granado, Joana Lobo Antunes and Paulo Nuno Vicente, professors of NOVA FCSH, the programme was launched in November 2016 and presents every day, a profile of a Portuguese scientist in just 90 seconds.

The programme's team also has Adriano Cerqueira, responsible for interviews and production, Luís Morgado, ITQB NOVA designer, and Paulo Castanheiro, NOVA FCSH doctoral student and responsible for the sound. Since its inception, the program has broadcasted more than 660 episodes, twice a day: at 10:58 a.m. and 6:58 p.m., always at Antena 1. Novartis and Santander Universities are sponsors of the initiative.
