Announced by the Rector, Professor João Sàágua, on the NOVA Quality Day, this Prize aims to recognize good pedagogical practices of NOVA teachers, including pedagogical innovation, developed in the immediately preceding academic year, and in curricular units of any type.

The aim of this Award is to reinforce the institutional commitment of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, formalized in its 2020-2030 Strategic Plan, to train its students with skills and knowledge that will enable them to develop a successful career anywhere in the world, and contribute positively within the community or society at large.

The Prize criteria focus, among others, on the relevance and originality of the good practices implemented compared to conventional practices, the excellence of the teacher, the impact, and the level of reach of the good pedagogical practices.

The Prize consists of a Pedagogical Innovation Scholarship with a monetary value of € 4,000 and up to a maximum of five honorable distinctions worth € 1,500 each.

As the applications are voluntary, it is the wish of the University to have as many teachers as possible applying to this Prize.
