On May 4 and 5, NOVA hosted the visit of academic leaders from European and Chinese institutions for a workshop on academic governance and leadership in the context of innovation and internationalization of Higher Education. The event was promoted by LEAD, a project supported by the European Comission through Key Action 2 (Capacity Building in the field of Higher Education) of Erasmus + Programme that bringst together experts and stakeholders in university governance and academic leadership in a consorcium coordinated by Vrije Universiteit Brussel, in Belgium.
The main objective of the project is to support Chinese Higher Education institutions to strengthen their governance and leadership for innovation and internationalization. The activities of the project include workshops for academic leaders, job shadowing, development of training material (online course and website) and conferences about the topics in discussion.
The Networks of Universities from the Capitals of Europe (UNICA), one of the members of the consorcium, also organized, along with the LEAD project workshop, a Rectors' seminar focused on the relations between Europe and China.
