Full Professor Carlos Ferreira de Almeida was one of the founders of NOVA School of Law, to which he dedicated his academic life.
Born in Setúbal on September 28, 1938, Carlos Ferreira de Almeida would graduate in 1960 at the NOVA School of Law, where he completed his master's and doctorate in legal sciences, the latter already in 1992.
His doctoral thesis, Text and Statement in the Theory of Legal Business, is one of the milestones of Portuguese legal science of the century. XX.
Since April 1996, alongside Diogo Freitas do Amaral, he made a decisive contribution to the creation of NOVA School of Law as we know it today, integrating his Installing Committee, in which he collaborated, namely, in the elaboration of its Guiding Principles, as well as in the creation of its undergraduate, master and doctoral courses in law.
Between 1999 and 2001, he was President of the Pedagogical Council and in 2002-2003 he assumed the position of Director of the School. It was also at NOVA School of Law that he joined Private Law in 2005, and where he has since taught as a Full Professor.
At NOVA we are in mourning and join the family of Professor Carlos Ferreira de Almeida to whom we express the most heartfelt condolences.
