Two new directors at NOVA National School of Public Health and NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Carla Nunes is the new director of NOVA National School of Public Health and Filomeno Fortes is the new director of NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Carla Nunes and Filomeno Fortes have been recently elected directors of NOVA National School of Public Health and  NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. 

Carla Nunes, specialist in statistics, epidemiology and public health, will be the director of National School of Public Healt. Full Professor of Statistics, she is a member of the Centro de Investigação em Saúde Pública (CISP) and the Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC).

Filomeno Fortes, Doctor in Biomedical Sciences, and an expert on malaria, will be the director of NOVA Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Professor at Universidade Agostinho Neto, member of Federação Internacional de Doenças Tropicais, he is the first foreign to assume this leadership post at the institute.
