The Universidade NOVA de Lisboa leads the U-Multirank 2017 at national level, with the highest classification of 11 indicators in category A ("Very Good") of this global ranking, compiled and financed by the European Commission.
Research publications, external research income, interdisciplinary publications, number of post-docs, income from private sources, spin-offs, income from continuous professional development, student mobility, international joint publications, master's graduates working in the region and regional joint publications were the indicators that obtained a maximum score in this ranking, within the five areas analyzed - teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional involvement.
The results achieved in the fourth edition of U-Multirank reveal the work developed by NOVA as a reference university, with excellence in teaching, competitive international research, innovative synergies for teaching and research, and services to the community, both nationally and internationally, capable of contributing in a relevant way to social development, to the qualification of human resources and the professional success of its students.
U-Multirank encompasses about 1,500 higher education institutions from 99 countries, developing an innovative and multidimensional approach through a tool for benchmarking the performance of institutions in 35 indicators, organized into five distinct groups: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional involvement.
